Dr. Ying Wang is a Research Associate in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Mayo Clinic. She has a strong research background in cardiovascular biology and has published fifteen peer-reviewed papers in this field. Dr. Wang received her Ph.D degree in Physiology from Peking University, China in 2009 and her PhD work focused on roles of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPAR) family and Krüppel-like factor 4 (KLF4) in vascular remodeling. Then Dr. Wang worked in Beijing Anzhen Hospital as a Research Scientist and expanded her research expertise in inflammatory mediators in cardiac remodeling after myocardial infarction, cardiac fibrosis and neointimal formation in grafted veins. In 2012, Dr. Wang started her postdoctoral training at Mayo Clinic and is currently working to understand roles of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) signaling in pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases.
