I graduated with honor from Medical School at the Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS), the best university in Iran, in March 2011. I was an active member of TUMS Students Scientific Research Center (SSRC), and I had numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
In March 2013 I joined Dr. Jie Li’s laboratory at the Department of Dermatology at the University of Miami as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow. My projects included evaluating the effect of a new herbal component in wound healing, the effects of Aloe vera and Topical Oxygen Emulsion in healing of the burn wounds, and evaluating the effect of DNA methylation of the Laminin-511 gene in developing melanoma and squamous cell carcinoma. I am currently an Entry Scientist at the Department of Dermatology at the University of Miami involving in psoriasis patients care and participating several projects in the area of psoriasis and psoriasis-related co-morbidities. I actively attend the Psoriasis Biologics Clinic where we see indigent patients and provide them with the most appropriate management and therapies. I also collaborate closely with other specialties including Hepatology, Endocrinology, Infectious Diseases, and Cardiology in order to advance Psoriasis patient care.
In March 2015, I was awarded with the “North American Hair Research Society Mentorship Grant”. I am currently the editorial board member and peer-reviewer of multiple prominent journals and I served as a judge in a number of national conferences such as Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students, and Eastern-Atlantic Student Research Forum, and also as a member of abstract reviewer team at Wound Healing Society Meetings.
