Dr Aiping Zeng was awarded PhD in Applied and Plasma Physics from the University of Sydney, Australia on 1st Dec 2008. But he has 20 year experience in industry, research and academia since he completed Bachelor degree in 1992. He is currently a Postdoctoral fellow funded by Foundation of Science and Technology, (Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia - FCT), a Portuguese Government, in the Center for Mechanical and Automobile Technology (Centro de Tecnologia Mecânica e Automação - TEMA), at University of Aveiro, Portugal. Since completing his PhD he has held roles at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel with postdoctoral fellowship and Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea with Brain Korea 21-Consortium Researcher fellowship. He is also visiting researcher in the University of Hawaii at Manoa and South Dakota State University, US. Dr. Zeng obtained an international reputation in this field of electrochemistry of diamond-like carbon films due to his pioneering work. He has a total of 14 articles published in the area of electrochemistry of diamond-like carbon films with first author or corresponding author on international peer-reviewed journals including two Feature Articles. Of the articles, 8 have been cited over 10 times each and all of the three highest cited articles have citations over 65. Dr. Zeng is also a highly respected researcher in China. The Chinese language version of his article “Chemical surface treatment for magnesium alloys” has been cited 211 times. His research interest focuses on carbon materials, plasma material processing, bio-sensing, solar energy, and environmental engineering.
