Dr. Jiabing Fan is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of California, Los Angeles. He obtained his PhD from Sun Yat-sen University, China in 2010. During his PhD, he has been a visiting graduate student in Bioengineering at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore (2008-2009) and subsequently worked as a research assistant in Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the National University of Singapore (2009-2010). Before joining University of California, Los Angeles, he completed his first round of postdoctoral training at Harvard University.
He has a broad research background in mesenchymal stem cells biology and therapy for bone and cartilage regeneration, and has diverse experiences in relevant research fields including medicine, tissue engineering, biomaterials and developmental biology. His recent research has focused on combined effect of novel osteoinductive factor and noggin suppression on osteogenesis of mesenchymal stem cells and bone regeneration. He has published over 13 peer-reviewed papers and has been invited as a guest editor and reviewer for several journals (Tissue Engineering, Bone, International Journal of Nanomedicine, Journal of Materials Chemistry B, et al).
