Research Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacology, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill, NC, USA
Dr. Wang received his PhD in Biophysics from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 2008, working with Gerard Marriott using fluorescence spectroscopy to study conformational dynamics of troponin and tropomyosin within the thin filament. From 2008 to 2012, he obtained his postdoctoral training at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He worked on developing of optogentics tools under the supervision of Dr. Klaus Hahn and high-throughput screening under the supervision of Dr. Rihe Liu. Dr. Wang was promoted to the position of Research Assistant Professor in 2012. His research interest is focused on exploring different approaches to control protein activity with light in living cells, aiming for broadly applicable methods that can be applied to diverse proteins and peptides.
