Associate Professor in Pharmacology, Department of Basic Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Tabriz, Iran
I am very interested in understanding the pathophysiology of lung diseases and the molecular mechanisms involved in the airway hyperresponsiveness, inflammation and remodelling which are associated with these diseases.
Previously, I worked on the role of Muscarinic receptors in respiratory diseases in University of Groningen, Netherland. Also recently, I have been as a visiting Professor at Yale Medical school, USA to discover the role of MicroRNAs in lung diseases. Working with animal models is very interesting and I have a natural interest in these studies because of my background study as a veterinarian. Recently, I finished working on the cat as an animal model for COPD and the diabetes type II effects on pulmonary system in rat.
I am passionate about focusing my future studies on understanding the role of Myeloid Derived Suppressor Cells in lung diseases. Now, I am Visiting Professor in Pediatric Infectious Diseases, Immunology & Pneumology/Cystic fibrosis Department in Universitätsklinik für Kinder-und Jugendmedizin, Tübingen University, Germany to discet the role of MDSCs in asthma and lung inflammation.
