Dove Medical Press announces Dr Annabel Chen as the Editor-in-Chief of Neuroscience and Neuroeconomics

Auckland, New Zealand (June 16, 2011)

Dove Medical Press has announced the appointment of Dr Annabel Chen as the Editor-in-Chief of the new journal Neuroscience and Neuroeconomics.

This international, peer-reviewed open access journal will focus on the classification of brain structures and the relationship between neural activity and behavior/behavioral predictions, and decision making in health and disease.

Dr Chen (PhD) is an associate professor in Psychology at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Since 1995, her research has been concentrated on functional neuroimaging, and she is especially interested in how these techniques can be applied to study neural substrates involved with higher cognition in the cerebellum, as well as healthy aging and dementia. She is an active contributor to international research collaborations across varied disciplines, including economics and engineering.

She says, “Neuroscience in human brain imaging has exploded over the past decade. The recent application of this knowledge to understand decision making in finance and risk/reward has culminated in the rapidly expanding field of neuroeconomics. The launch of this journal is timely and fills the gap in providing cutting edge research integrating neuroscience and neuroeconomics.”

Publisher Tim Hill at Dove Medical Press added, “The appointment of Dr Chen as theeditor-in-chief of Neuroscience and Neuroeconomics is particularly exciting at this time, with the heightened level of interest in this field internationally. All of us at Dove Medical Press are committed to sustaining the highest levels of editorial integrity, rigorous and constructive peer-review, along with rapid publication times and the presentation of quality research findings.”
