Professor Massoud
Editor-in-Chief: Dr Tarik F. Massoud
Tarik Massoud is Professor of Neuroradiology and Molecular Imaging, Department of Radiology, at Stanford University School of Medicine and Medical Centre, USA, where he is building and directing a new initiative in translational molecular imaging of brain cancer.
Tarik qualified from the Medical School of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (1984), subsequently trained in Radiology and Neuroradiology in Oxford, UCLA, and the University of Michigan, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists in London. He also holds a postgraduate research MD degree in experimental neuroimaging (work conducted at UCLA), and a Cambridge PhD in molecular imaging (work conducted at the Crump Institute of Molecular Imaging at UCLA, and the Molecular Imaging Program at Stanford, Gambhir laboratory).
From 2000 to early 2013 he was a University Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Neuroradiology at the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine and Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, UK. He was formerly an Associate Professor of Radiology at UCLA, and held visiting Associate Professorships at Columbia and Milwaukee.
Tarik has published extensively and won numerous awards at scientific meetings. His papers in experimental interventional neuroradiology and molecular imaging are widely cited. He has been a peer-reviewer for numerous international medical journals, as well as other medical charities and governmental funding agencies. He is Editor-in-Chief of the journal Reports in Medical Imaging, and an editorial board member for several other biomedical journals.
His current interests are in molecular and translational imaging of the brain especially in neuro-oncology and cerebrovascular diseases, experimental aspects of neuroimaging, clinical neuroradiology, neuroradiological anatomy, and research education and academic training of radiologists.

Professor Shiue
Associate Editor: Professor Chyng-Yann Shiue
Chyng-Yann Shiue, Ph.D., was born in Taiwan and earned his B.S. in Chemistry from Taiwan Normal University in 1964. After a one year research assistantship and one year of military service in Taiwan, he left for the United States and received his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Brown University in 1970. After carrying out postdoctoral research at the University of Kentucky and at Brown University, he started his career as a PET radiopharmaceutical chemist at Brookhaven National Laboratory on Long Island, NY (with Al Wolf) in 1976. He is one of the pioneers in the development of positron emitters-labeled radiopharmaceuticals for biomedical applications. In 1989, he was recruited by Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska as PET Center Director to establish one of the first clinical PET centers in the world. In 1993, he was recruited by the University of Pennsylvania PET Center as Professor of Radiologic Science and Director of PET Chemistry and worked there until his retirement in 2006.
He has published more than 160 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and holds 10 patents for radiolabeling procedures. He has served as a grant reviewer for the National Cancer Institute, National Institute of Neurology Disorders and Stroke, National Institute on Drug Abuse, U.S. Department of Energy, National Health Research Institutes of Taiwan and National Science Council of Taiwan. He has also been a reviewer and member of editorial boards for numerous scientific journals and as a moderator and reviewer for scientific meetings.
In 2006, after 40 years in the United States, he was recruited back to Taiwan by the National Science Council of Taiwan as a Research Scholar to establish the PET research program at the PET Centers of both Tri-Service General Hospital and National Taiwan University Hospital. Currently, he serves as Professor at Tri-Service General Hospital PET Center, Senior Manager at National Taiwan University Hospital PET Center, Distinguished Research Fellow at Molecular Imaging Center of National Taiwan University, and Chaired Professor at Institute of Nuclear Energy Research, Taiwan.
