Dr Marleen van Gelder

Dr. Marleen van Gelder has a master degree in Biomedical Sciences and earned a PhD degree in epidemiology in 2012. She is currently assistant professor in perinatal pharmacoepidemiology at the Radboud University Medical Center in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. Previously, she worked on various research projects at the University of Oslo (Norway), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Atlanta, USA), and Boston University (USA).

Dr. van Gelder has 10+ years of research experience on perinatal epidemiology, focusing on women’s health during pregnancy. She has published over 60 peer-reviewed articles, responsible for study design, data validation, and adapting biostatistical methods applicable in perinatal epidemiology. Dr. van Gelder is scientific coordinator of the largest birth cohort study in The Netherlands, supervises MSc and PhD students, and teaches graduates courses in research methodology.
