Dr Andreas Kaiser has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of the open access journal Clinical and Experimental Gastroenterology, published by Dove Medical Press.

Auckland, New Zealand (PRWEB) August 31, 2011

Dove Medical Press has announced the appointment of Dr Andreas Kaiser as the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Clinical and Experimental Gastroenterology.

This international, peer-reviewed, open access, online journal publishes original research, reports, editorials, reviews and commentaries on all aspects of gastroenterology in the clinic and laboratory.

Dr Kaiser is an Associate Professor of Colorectal Surgery at the University Southern California in Los Angeles, California where he served as Chairman of the Department of Colorectal Surgery from 2008 to 2009. Dr Kaiser is committed to patient-care, research and education. He has written numerous articles and book chapters, and in 2009 published his own book, the “McGraw-Hill Manual of Colorectal Surgery”. His clinical and research interests include colorectal and anal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticulitis, anorectal physiology, functional disorders such as constipation, pelvic floor dysfunction, and incontinence.

He says, "The gastrointestinal tract remains a hot spot of fascination for its unparalleled combination of basic cellular physiology, molecular biology, and ground-breaking research on one end of the spectrum and a very practice-oriented technological revolution with fast-pace paradigm shifts in clinical and surgical management of patients. Yet, with the total amount of accumulated knowledge still being a neglible fraction of what we still need to explore and understand, there is definitely space for this open-access journal to present various forms of high-quality contributions including new research findings but also well-written reviews and meta-analyses."

Publisher, Tim Hill, at Dove Medical Press added, “The appointment of Dr Kaiser as the Editor-in-Chief of Clinical and Experimental Gastroenterology is particularly exciting at this time. All of us at Dove Medical Press are committed to sustaining the highest levels of editorial integrity, rigorous and constructive peer-review, along with rapid publication times and the presentation of quality research findings.”
