Page 332, right column, line two, the text “reduces” should read “increases”. The correct sentence should read as “With mechanical ventilation, positive intrathoracic pressure during inspiration reduces the venous return, which increases the IVC diameter, and during expiration the lower intrathoracic pressure increases the venous return which decreases IVC diameter at end-expiration”.
