Noteworthy comment: The Duffy chemokine receptor is involved in the infective process of the malaria parasite. It mediates the effect of the parasitic ligand, Duffy binding protein in permitting entry of the parasite into host blood cells. To date most attempts at therapeutic control via this interaction have focused on the binding protein, but this review covers the various approaches potentially available to target the receptor directly, providing a new promising strategy to treat malaria infection
