Noteworthy Comment: Although today's arena of personalized medicine heralds in the promise of more effective and efficient therapy on a personal level, there is also the overwhelming onus to the physician and patient on the logic pertaining to this mode of testing as well as what to do with this information. Mills and colleagues, provide guidelines on how to approach the physician - patient unit in the primary care setting with respect to pharmacogenetic testing which is also sensitive to the high throughput demands imposed in today's healthcare environment to optimize patient care and empowerment.
