Dr. Hudson is the dean of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences at North Park University, Chicago, IL. Her research area is childhood obesity in children, with an emphasis on African American children.During her doctoral thesis research in Public Health Nursing at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN, she demonstrated that preschool children’s overweight status was not associated with the diet-related attitudes and knowledge of parents. As a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania, she continued work in the area of childhood obesity. In addition, she has presented and published in the area of nursing education. Dr. Hudson has published in several nursing and health journals and has served as a reviewer for professional journals. Dr. Hudson served as a grant reviewer for the Human Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) in the US.
