Dr Majumder

Dr Anwarul Azim Majumder, MD, received his Doctor of Philosophy (medical education) from the Centre for Medical Education at the University of Dundee, UK in 2000; MHPEd from School of Medical Education, University of New South Wales, Australia in 1991; MBBS from Chittagong Medical College, Bangladesh in 1985; and Diploma in Health Economics from Dhaka University, Bangladesh in 2001.

Dr. Majumder is currently a Lecturer at the Clinical Sciences Department at the University of Bradford, UK. He worked in the Centre for Medical Education, Bangladesh and the Department of Medical Education of the School of Medical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia and was actively involved with innovation and experimentation of community-oriented medical education, competency-based education and problem-based learning. He has extensive experience in HRH management, education and training; planning, development and evaluation of medical, dental, nursing and allied health professional curricula; and designing, conducting and evaluation of faculty development programmes for the teachers [medical, dental, nursing, paramedical etc.] on teaching methodology, curriculum planning, program evaluation, quality assurance in medical education, medical ethics, educational research etc. While working in the Centre for Medical Education, Bangladesh, he contributed to the development and implementation of  many educational, training and research projects/programmes sponsored by the UN and other international agencies e.g. WHO, British Council, DFID, UNFPA and World Bank.

Dr. Majumder was the Founder Secretary General of the National Association of Medical Education (NAME), Bangladesh and the President of the Union of Risk Management for Preventive Medicine (URMPM), Bangladesh Society. He has a number of peer-reviewed publications on medical education and healthcare.
