Dr. Wilson Gonsalves is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic in the Division of Hematology. He completed his medical school and internal medicine residency at Creighton University School of Medicine and his fellowship training in hematology/oncology as well as an advanced fellowship in dysproteinemias at the Mayo Clinic.

His clinical practice focuses on the management of patients with plasma cell disorders such as multiple myeloma, light chain amyloidosis, etc. His translational research focuses on understanding the cellular metabolism of malignant plasma cells in diseases such as multiple myeloma by employing a variety of systems biology techniques in an integrated fashion. He is also interested in enhancing the supportive care of patients with plasma cell disorders by incorporating clinical interventions to improve symptoms and quality of life. He also studies population-based outcomes in various plasma cell.

Dr. Gonsalves leads several investigator-initiated early phase clinical trials evaluating novel therapeutics in plasma cell disorders. Finally, he has authored and co-authored several publications on clinical and translational research in plasma cell disorders. He serves on the editorial board for several other peer-reviewed journals as well as a reviewer with an expertise in plasma cell disorders for several journals.
