Professor Wu

Editor-in-Chief: Professor Li-Tzy Wu, MA, ScD

Professor Li-Tzy Wu is a full Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina, USA.  She grew up in Taiwan and received pre-doctoral and post-doctoral training in psychiatric and drug dependence epidemiology from the School of Public Heath at the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland.  Dr. Wu is a member of the Alpha Chapter of the Delta Omega Honorary Public Health Society and a former fellow of the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) Summer Institute for Randomized Clinical Trials Involving Behavioral Interventions.

Professor Wu has served as a principal investigator on many research grants from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) of the U.S. NIH.  She has extensive experience in conducting research on substance related disorders using data from different sources, including the National Comorbidity Survey, National Survey on Drug Use and Health, National Epidemiologic Survey on Alcohol and Related Conditions, longitudinal studies on adolescents, electronic health records, and multisite randomized addiction treatment trials of the National Drug Abuse Treatment Clinical Trials Network (NIDA CTN). She has published research findings from studies of epidemiology of substance related disorders and treatment utilization (eg, tobacco, alcohol, marijuana, inhalants, cocaine, amphetamines, hallucinogens, ecstasy, heroin, prescription opioids, and injection drug use), psychometric research on nosology of substance related disorders, and comorbid disorders in peer-reviewed journals.

Professor Wu has served as an ad hoc grant reviewer for the NIH and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration of the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
