Dr Pasetti

Dr. Pasetti is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and faculty member of the Center for Vaccine Development (CVD) at the University of Maryland, School of Medicine.  She is an immunologist with expertise in pre-clinical and clinical vaccine studies. Her research focuses in the evaluation and characterization of vaccine-induced immune responses in various animal models, using different vaccine strategies and antigen delivery systems. Her main area of interest is neonatal immunology. Current work in her laboratory includes the development and evaluation of vaccines for newborns and infants and basic studies to understand the mechanisms underlying the induction of immune responses early in life.  Dr. Pasetti also serves as Chief of the Applied Immunology Section at the CVD, overseeing immunological studies for human clinical trials conducted in the US and abroad.  Her work has been supported by multiple awards from the US National Institute of Health (NIH) and private foundations. She is also member of several editorial boards and national and international review panels.
