Dr Gayed

Editor-in-Chief: Dr Isis Gayed

Dr. Isis W. Gayed is an Associate Professor of Radiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas.  She is also the Chief of Nuclear Medicine at the University of Texas Medical School.  Dr. Gayed has been a consultant for G.E. Healthcare System and the Texas Medical Board.

She completed her Internal Medicine internship at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA; and completed her Nuclear Medicine residency and fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She has an active role in clinical, teaching and research fields previously at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and presently at University of Houston Health Science Center, Houston, Texas.
Dr. Gayed is certified by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine, Council of Nuclear Cardiology and Coronary CTA Interpretation.  Locally, she is a member of M.D. Anderson Cancer Center Alumni and Baylor College of Medicine Alumni. 

Dr. Gayed has published over 30 articles in peer reviewed journals and has written a book chapter. She presented in several national and international meetings. Her main clinical interest is the use of Nuclear Medicine imaging for more targeted radiation therapy in cancer patients and optimization of parathyroid imaging. She has special research interest in the field of SPECT-CT imaging as well as in prediction of response to chemotherapy using FDG PET imaging.
